1st workshop for the beneficiaries of EU funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan

14.01.2022.

A workshop was held today at the Croatian Chamber of Economy Hall for the beneficiaries of EU funds for the projects for improving energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources in the manufacturing industries. These projects are worth more than HRK 900 million for which more than HRK 462 million of grant funding have been provided. The participants at the workshop could hear about the details regarding EU procedures, deadlines, and the obligations they had as beneficiaries. The funding for this project has been provided through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021 – 2026 and the Recovery and Resilience Facility.

The Fund’s Intermediate Body level 2 oversees the control of procurement procedures, as well as financial and technical verification of EU projects. Since they have considerable experience in monitoring these types of projects, workshops were organised to help eliminate any potential dilemmas during implementation. The implementing framework and the experiences so far were presented to the participants with whom the EU funding grant agreements were concluded. On behalf of the Fund presentations were held by Sanja Jelačić, acting head of the Intermediate Body, Ines Božičević from the Department for control of procurement, Nataša Dankić Sliepčević from the Department for technical verification of energy efficiency and RES projects, Bojan Hlača from the Department for project selection, Maša Brezovac from the System control department, and Mario Prlić from the Department for financial and economic verification. For successful implementation of the projects, and to achieve the best possible withdrawal rate of the approved funding, the employees of the Fund underlined the importance of proactive communication.

The next workshop is planned to be held on 18 January 2022 from 9 to 15 at the Hall of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Rooseveltov trg 2.
