Deputy director of the Fund Mirko Budiša participated in the final conference of the nearly 2 million-worth project of construction of the composting plant in Bjelovar.The project of building a composting plant at the Doline landfill has been completed. During the final conference in Bjelovar, it was said that the project was worth 1.9 million euros, and it was co-financed by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund with 50 percent.
"The project will directly affect the fulfilment of the objectives set by the European Commission for the circular economy. Also, significant success has been achieved with an 80 thousand-euro grant secured grants from EU funds", said deputy director of the Fund Mirko Budiša.
The mayor of the Town of Bjelovar, Dario Hrebak, expressed his satisfaction that with the construction of this installation and the sorting plant, Bjelovar had one of the most modern waste management facilities in the country.
The aim of the implementation of the project "Construction and equipping of the biological treatment plant for separately collected biowaste of the Town of Bjelovar" is to improve the biowaste management system in the town and eight surrounding municipalities - Kapela, Nova Rača, Rovišće, Severin, Šandrovac, Velika Pisanica, Veliko Trojstvo and Zrinski Topolovac.
