Fee for the management of waste batteries and accumulators
The Ordinance on the management of waste batteries and accumulators (OG 111/15) lays down the procedures and goals of the management of waste batteries and accumulator, the conditions for the management of waste batteries and accumulators, the requirements with regard to separate collection and treatment of waste batteries and accumulators, content of the scheme for providing the service of collection of waste portable batteries and accumulators, the obligation to keep records and submit reports, the requirements with regard to batteries and accumulators which are products, the method and conditions for labelling batteries and accumulators and the packaging, the obligations and the method for compliance with the obligations of the producer of products, types of products subject to registration in the Register of management of special categories of waste and the method of mandatory practices of producers of products and holders of waste, and other issues related to the management of management of waste batteries and accumulators, for the purpose of compliance with the goals laid down in this Ordinance.
Producer of batteries or accumulators is a legal or natural person – craftsman, who is professionally involved in the development, manufacturing, processing, treatment, sale, introduction or import and is the first person to place the batteries or accumulators, including those contained in devices and vehicles, on the market of the Republic of Croatia, irrespective of the method of sale.
Fee for the management of waste batteries and accumulators is the fee for the management of the special category of waste which is the obligation of the producers, and it is used to finance the costs of the system for collection and treatment of waste portable batteries and accumulators managed by the Fund.
