11.04.2024.

Luka Balen, the director of the Fund, presented today in Gospić decisions on co-financing the renovation of public buildings in Lika-Senj County worth almost 4 million euros. The decisions were handed over to the Lika-Senj County mayor Ernest Petry, the mayors of Senj and Novalja, Jurica Tomljanović and Ivan Daba respectively, and the head of Municipality Brinje Zlatko Fumić.

"Energy renovation is the foundation of the green transition. The Fund started this year with the programme of energy renovation of family houses, and the call of the Ministry of Construction for the renovation of apartment buildings is also under way. Public buildings are also energy consumers, and their consumption has a significant impact on not only city and municipal budgets, but on the quality of life in these buildings," Balen noted, adding that at the last call, the allocation was increased from 40m euros to 110m euros, providing enough funding for  the energy renovation of 141 public buildings.

Lika-Senj County mayor Ernest Petry concurred with the director of the Fund on the importance of investing in energy efficiency, i.e. in sustainable development. "I am honoured that representatives of the Fund are here with us today to present decisions on co-financing energy efficiency projects in the area of three towns, with the fourth being Gospić, or to be more precise Gospić Vocational and Grammar School. The value of the contracts awarded today is about 4 million euros," said county mayor Petry.

Significant financial resources have been approved for energy renovation projects od sports halls in Senj and Novalja, sports and recreation complex in Brinje, and substantial investment for the renovation of school buildings in Gospić, where the largest sum, about two million euros, will be invested in the Vocational School and Grammar School.

The mayors of Senj, Novalja and Brinje, Jurica Tomljenović, Ivan Dabo and Zlatko Fumić respectively, expressed their appreciation of the allocated funds that will significantly contribute to the renovation of buildings and improvement of conditions for all users. The principals of the schools in Gospić, Barbara Tomljenović Jurković and Anela Serdar Pašalić, particularly emphasized the importance of these projects for the education sector, stressing that the renovation of school facilities would provide better conditions for students and teachers.
