Citizens who install and put into operation a PV power plant on their family house in 2025, will be able to apply to the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund to co-finance up to 50 percent of the investment. The public call worth EUR 10 million has been published on the Fund's website, while applications will be received electronically from 6 June through the e-FZOEU IT system, with NIAS authentication and the use of credentials with a significant level of security.

The Fund will co-finance 600 euros per kW of the nominal power of the installed power plant, and the condition for the approval of funds is proper ownership, legality of the built building, and having registered permanent residence at the address of the house where roof PV panels are installed. As already announced late last year in the Fund's Indicative Plan of Public Calls and Calls for Proposals, these retroactive incentives are intended exclusively for citizens who have already installed, or plan to install, their power plants and for which they will have obtained a certificate for permanent operation issued by the distribution system operator (HEP ODS) during this year. The public call is open from 6 June until the funds are used up, and at the latest until l31 December 2025.

Citizens who meet the conditions of the call will be reimbursed retroactively, based on invoices and other documentation they need to submit together with the application.

The use of solar energy is an important step towards Croatia’s sustainable and energy-independent future. That is the reason why the Fund continuously provides co-financing for the installation of PV systems, enabling citizens easier access to renewable energy sources. In the last two years alone, with the help of the Fund's incentives, around 5,600 photovoltaic power plants have been installed on family houses. It is expected that this figure will increase during this year by an additional 2,500 home power plants, which will contribute not only to the green transition of our households, but also to their lower energy costs.
