Collection

Waste oils as one of the special categories of waste must be collected separately and stored into suitable containers separately from other types of waste.

Containers for the reception and collection of waste oils must comply with the special regulation governing waste management in the Republic of Croatia and must have a waste oil category marking.

Collection of waste oils covers collection (taking over and transport to the waste oils collector’s storage), sorting, storage, preparation, and transport of waste oils to the waste oils treatment operator.

A collector is a legal or natural person - tradesman who, in accordance with the Wast Management Act (Official Gazette 84/21, 142/23 - Decision of the USRH), registered in the Register of collectors and recovery operators, and who has obtained a waste management permit for the waste oil collection activity, and has concluded a contract for the performance of the waste oil collection activity with the contractual treatment operator of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.

The waste oil collector is obliged to take from the waste oil holder all waste oils listed in Appendix 21 of the Ordinance on the management of special categories of waste in the system of the Fund (Official gazette 124/23),  and to hand them over to the waste oil treatment operator together with the accompanying sheet pursuant to the regulation governing waste management, or with the appropriate notification document for transboundary shipments of waste.
