Collection

Waste oils, as one of special categories of waste, have to be collected separately and stored in adequate containers separately from other types of waste.
It is prohibited to mix different categories of waste oils, or mixing with other hazardous waste containing PCB/PCT.
Waste oils collection includes the collection, temporary storage, pre-treatment/conditioning, sorting and transport of waste oils from holders to the entities authorised for recovery and/or disposal of waste oils.
Licensed collector of waste oils is a legal or natural person – tradesman that pursuant to the Act on Sustainable Waste Management holds a licence for pursuing the activity of waste oils collection, and under the provisions of the Ordinance on the management of waste oils has concluded with the Fund the contract on collecting waste oils.
They are obliged to accept over free of charge waste oils from the holders of waste oils and to hand them to the company authorised for recovery and/or disposal of waste oils. In the case of collected waste oils for which there is no company in Croatia authorised for material recovery and/or thermal recovery and/or disposal of waste oils, the licensed waste oils collector is obliged to organise, with prior approval of the Fund, recovery and/or disposal of the waste concerned outside the Republic of Croatia and is entitled to the reimbursement of the costs.
Upon the acceptance of waste oils from the holder of waste oils, the licensed collector is obliged to validate the consignment notes.
