Under the public call of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund for the energy renovation of family houses, 273 projects were approved for citizens from the area of Požega-Slavonia County. The last 29 contracts were handed over to the beneficiaries at the Panora Coworking Centre in Požega by the minister of environment and green transition, Marija Vučković, and the director of the Fund, Luka Balen.

Emphasising that the Public Call for expressions of interest aimed at comprehensive financing of energy renovation of family houses of the most vulnerable households was currently underway, the director of the Fund, Luka Balen, also pointed out that was the largest investment in the energy renovation of family houses so far. "With last year's call for the energy renovation of family houses, the Government of the Republic of Croatia provided the largest amount so far for our citizens. So far, we have awarded about nine thousand contracts, which is almost 100 million euros in grants," said Balen.

Antonija Jozić, prefect of Požega-Slavonia County, said she was sure that these funds would greatly help users from Požega-Slavonia County in the energy renovation of their family houses, regardless of whether it is the replacement of windows, outer envelope, the installation of heat pumps, or the installation of photovoltaic power plants.

Minister Vučković also announced new calls aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens, trimming down costs and preserving resources. "As the director said, we are talking about 100 million euros of aid that resulted in an investment of almost twice as much. We will continue with more focus on vulnerable groups of citizens, meaning complete energy renovations. However, there are also a number of other public calls open to our citizens, companies and the public sector alike,” Vučković announced.

Before presenting the contracts, prefect Jozić and deputy mayor of Požega Borislav Miličević held a working meeting with minister Vučković and the director of the Fund Balen on projects aimed at preventing the harmful effects of water, as well as energy renovation of public sector buildings.
