WMC Lučino razdolje

County Waste Management Centre “Lučino razdolje” in Dubrovnik-Neretva County is a system of facilities and machinery for the treatment, recovery, and/or disposal of mixed municipal waste, with the total capacity of around 40,000 t/year, comprising the construction waste treatment plant (CWP) with 7520 t/year capacity, and covers 5 (five) towns and seventeen (17) municipalities with the population of around 122,000.

The centre is planned in the area of  Municipality Dubrovačko primorje, approximately 1 km to west of Trnovica settlement. The project includes the construction of six transfer stations in  Dubrovnik, Metković, Janjina, on islands Mljet, Lastovo, and Korčula, due to the indented coastline and numerous islands that are covered by the County.

At the beginning of in early 202,  the project was approved for EU financing, with eligible costs co-financed from the Cohesion Fund amounting to HRK 286.8 million (approx. 70.18%), 19.822% is provided by EPEEF, and the remaining amount by the Beneficiary, i.e. Agencija za gospodarenje otpadom d.o.o. (10%).
 
The construction and establishment of the Waste Management Centre “Lučino razdolje” will contribute to the integrated waste management system in the area of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, which will facilitate an organised, economically oriented and comprehensive waste management in said area.
