18.01.2021. The Fund has provided HRK 50 million for the waste disposal measures in the areas hit by the earthquake in Sisak-Moslavina County. The method of implementation of these measures was presented today by the Director of the Fund Siniša Kukić, Assistant Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Anamarija Matak, and Head of the Fund’s Environmental Protection Sector Aleksandra Čilić.
14.01.2021. With the aim of as quick as possible remediation and repair of damage caused by earthquakes that hit the area of Sisak-Moslavina County, the Fund has allocated HRK 50 million for the implementation of waste management measures: collection, transport, sorting, and treatment of waste, purchase of equipment, and other activities required for waste management.
08.01.2021. Eco-competition “Reinventing the old, for a heartfelt gift” was closed today. The competition was held by the Fund to motivate primary and high school pupils during Christmas and New Year’s holidays to make their own decorations, presents, and to come up with creative solutions based on the principle of reuse.
30.12.2020. At its session today, the Croatian Government adopted a conclusion whereby the Fund will provide HRK 10 million to repair the damage caused by the earthquakes that struck on 28 and 29 December 2020. In the explanation of the proposal by the Ministry of Economy, the minister emphasised that the situation was extremely difficult and that financial assistance by the state will be directed to remedying immediate damage, so that later on these areas could be rebuilt.
23.12.2020. The Fund and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development conclude the Agreement on co-financing of the CROLIS project. The total value of the project is HRK 46 million, with EU financing from the LIFE programme in the amount of HRK 35.2 million, while the Fund will participate with HRK 7.1m, or almost 21% of eligible costs.
23.12.2020. HGSS will take part in the action of removal of end-of-life vehicles on the islands, in national parks and nature parks, which will be implemented by the Fund next year. The units of local self-government with administrative jurisdiction over the islands, in national parks and nature parks have so far reported around 200 end-of-life vehicles dumped in the environment.
21.12.2020. For a start, the Fund has provided around HRK 2 million for three projects implemented by the public institutions Brijuni National Park and Telašćica Nature Park, and the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Areas in Split-Dalmatia County “More i krš”.
16.12.2020. “In the next few months, we will supply 1.23 million of different types of containers to towns and municipalities in Croatia. At the moment, this is the largest commissioned quantity of containers in Europe,” said Director of the Fund Siniša Kukić in Pula, during today’s event for handing over containers for separate waste collection held in the Port of Pula.
11.12.2020. The formal handover of the containers for separate waste collection – the first group of 550 bio-waste containers for the city’s utility infrastructure, which is just one part of the 31 600 containers ordered – was held in Osijek today. The guests present at the event included Minister Tomislav Ćorić, Director of the Fund Siniša Kukić, Boris Piližota, the deputy mayor, and Davor Vić, the director of the utility company Unikom.
09.12.2020. The utility company Usluga Poreč was approved HRK 1.3m from EU funds for the purchase of the utility vehicle. The contract for this project was signed by Siniša Kukić, the director of the Fund, Marko Markić, acting head of the Directorate for EU Programmes and Projects at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, and the director of Usluga Poreč Milan Laković.
03.12.2020. "The Fund fully supports the transformation of the transport system, which is corroborated by the public calls totalling more than 210 million kunas that we successfully implemented this year despite the corona virus pandemic,” said Director of the Fund Siniša Kukić in the meeting with the representatives of the association Strujni krug.
02.12.2020. The final conference marked the completion of the project implemented by the City of Zagreb entitled “Put the right thing in the right place”, which was aimed at educating the citizens about the proper way of waste disposal. In the opening speech, the participants at the conference were addressed by Siniša Kukić, the director of the Fund, while head of the Fund’s organisational unit Aleksandra Čilić took part in the panel on waste management in the City of Zagreb.
