9 November – new deadline for submitting applications for energy renovation of houses damaged in earthquake

26.10.2022.

Due to numerous enquiries of potential beneficiaries preparing their documentation, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund decided to postpone the date for the start of submission of applications to the Public Call for co-financing the projects of energy renovation of family houses damaged in the earthquake. Consequently, instead of on 27 October, the submission of applications will start on 9 November at 9:00. The changes to the text of the call were published by the Fund today in the Official Gazette and the on the Fund’s website.

The total allocated amount of 100 million kunas will be available to citizens whose houses were damaged in the earthquake in the City of Zagreb, Sisak-Moslavina County, Krapina-Zagorje County, Zagreb County, and Karlovac County. The maximum co-financing per individual family house is up to 80% of eligible costs for a comprehensive energy renovation that includes improving thermal insulation of certain elements of the envelope (exterior walls, roof, and/or floors), replacement of the glazing, and the installation of some kind of RES system, or just thermal insulation improvement projects.
The maximum amount per house is up to 368 thousand kunas for the energy renovation measures, and 2000 kunas for expert assistance in the process of applying to the call. The application is submitted in writing, by registered mail to the address of the Fund: Radnička cesta 80, 10000 Zagreb.

The goal of the call is to ensure that the renovation of the houses damaged in the earthquake is at the same time energy efficient, so that in the context of the energy crisis these projects will speed up the green transition process. Buildings are one of the largest consumers of energy, and the aim of the measures that are being co-financed is to reduce their energy consumption to a minimum and to ensure their energy independence, while taking into account the potential of different locations in using renewable energy sources.
