About renovation of family houses in Imotski

30.09.2021.

The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund held a workshop about the programme for co-financing energy renovation of family houses at the music school in Imotski. Since most of the built houses do not meet today’s energy efficiency performance standards, the citizens wanted to know which measures were eligible for co-financing to make their homes warmer and costs lower.

In her opening speech, Anamarija Radeljić, the deputy mayor of Imotski, welcomed all present and expressed her pleasure with the interest in the workshop.

“Some houses in Imotski have already received co-financing for the energy renovation and their owners are very happy,” said Tomo Ilić, an expert at the Department for energy efficiency and renewable energy sources at the Fund. This year the Fund allocated HRK 300 million for the energy renovation of houses, with the maximum co-financing that can be granted amounting to HRK 204 thousand per project, while the citizens were most interested in learning about the terms and conditions of the call and method of applying. Ilić explained that the applicants must be natural persons with permanent residence registered at the address of the relevant house no later than 14 September. Since this year the allocated budget is higher, it is expected that the financing will be provided for around 4000 family houses.

In addition, in the workshop it was explained that the thermal insulation of the building envelope or a comprehensive energy renovation would be co-financed with up to 60% for the houses in the energy category D or lower in continental, or C or lower in coastal Croatia. The funding is also available solely for the use of renewable energy sources, either for the heating systems or electricity generation. However, these funds are available only for the houses in the energy category C or higher, or B or higher in the continental and coastal parts of Croatia respectively, with the grant amounting to 40, 60 or 80%, depending on the location.

The presenters invited the participants to create their user accounts in the e-Applications system before the start date for the submission of applications, so that on 14 October at 9:00 they could log in, fill out the application form and upload the necessary documentation on time. It was advised that the mandatory documents, such as quotes from contractors, should be recent, while the documents  such as energy audit reports and energy performance certificates were valid for several years and it was not necessary to have them drawn up again if there were no additional construction works done on the house.

During the workshop it was also mentioned that the Fund was co-financing expert assistance with up to 500 kn, and the amount would be paid together with other energy renovation costs, based on an invoice or service contract. If their applications are successful, beneficiaries will have a 2-year deadline to implement the renovation itself, and for two years following the payment of the grant they will be obliged to keep permanent residence at the same address.
