Citizens of Zaprešić show keen interest in energy renovation of family houses

07.10.2021.

A large number of inhabitants of Zaprešić came to an information and education workshop on the energy renovation of family houses. The goal of the workshops organised across Croatia was to explain all the terms and conditions of the Fund’s Public Call launched on 15 September, and to show to all interested citizens how to use the e-Applications system to submit their applications for co-financing EE and RES measures.

Krešimir Petric from the Administrative department for construction of the Town of Zaprešić invited the citizens to contact him should they have any uncertainties when preparing their  application for the Fund’ public call. “Seven years ago, the Town was the implementing authority for this project, and some 70-80 houses were renovated, either their façades or reenable energy systems, and all these citizens have a positive experience. I hope you will apply to this call invited by the Fund and that your experience will also be positive,” he concluded.

The staff from the Fund pointed out that the budget for the implementation of the programme was considerably higher than last year, amounting to HRK 300 million, and it was expected that it will suffice for the renovation of around 4000 family houses. The financing is available for the houses with the complete relevant documentation and meeting one of the two conditions: they have either up to three dwelling units, or a surface area of up to 600m2. Eligible applicants are natural persons house owners or co-owners with permanent residence registered at the address no later than 14 September.

The programme covers the financing of different EE measures, and depending on the one(s) chosen, the terms and conditions of the Cal have to be met. Thermal insulation of the building envelope or a comprehensive energy renovation will be co-financed with up to 60% for the houses in the energy category D or lower in continental, or C or lower in coastal Croatia. The funding is also available solely for the use of renewable energy sources, either for the heating systems or electricity generation. However, these funds are available only for the houses in the energy category C or higher, or B or higher in the continental and coastal part of Croatia respectively, the grant amounting to 40, 60 or 80%, depending on the location.

Depending on the measures they choose, the citizens will be able to get a grant of up to HRK 204 thousand for the renovation. The precondition for this is successful application in the e-Applications system, and the submission starts on 14 October at 9:00. Only then will the users be able to fill out the online application form and upload the required documentation.

The list of the required documents has been further simplified this year. The documents such as the energy audit report and energy performance certificate are valid for several years and it is not necessary to have them made again, if the applicants already had them drawn up, provided there  were no additional construction works done on the house. The presenters pointed out that due to a change in market prices, it would be good to obtain a more recent quote from the contractor, and since the deadline for the construction works is 24 months, they are free to change the contractor later on.

To prepare them as best as possible, the employees of the Fund demonstrated the use of the e-Applications system. They advised the citizens to create their user accounts before the date of submission. In case they could not submit an online application or were not skilled at using a computer, they could hire an anergy auditor or someone else to do it for them. The Fund will provide 500 kn for this service, and the amount would be paid together with other energy renovation costs, based on an invoice or service contract.
