Today in Gospić, a ceremonial signing of contracts for the co-financing of the energy renovation of family houses was held, where 20 contracts worth more than €250,000 were awarded to beneficiaries. These projects are co-financed through last year’s public call of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, worth a record €120 million. The aim of this call was to encourage an increase in the energy efficiency of the housing sector and to reduce energy costs for citizens.“This public call of the Fund is the largest so far, and we have already contracted nearly 9,000 projects worth around €100 million. In Lika-Senj County, a total of about 220 projects have been approved, which together with previous contracts amounts to over 500 projects,” said the Director of the Fund, Luka Balen, adding that the Fund has also announced a new call for the co-financing of photovoltaic power plants. “Citizens who install photovoltaic systems and put them into operation this year can receive a 50% reimbursement. Such projects enable long-term savings and make households more energy independent.”
County Prefect Ernest Petry emphasized that through two calls of the Fund, citizens managed to secure funding for the energy renovation of more than 500 houses. “Along with all the projects we have worked on so far, we have also prepared technical documentation for new, larger projects through which we want to stop emigration and encourage the return of young people. The contracts awarded today are just one step in this process, a demonstration of Lika-Senj County’s commitment to creating better living conditions,” concluded Petry, adding that this can be achieved through strategic investments, cooperation with state institutions, and measures that make everyday life easier for citizens while encouraging them to stay or return to this area.
