09.09.2025.

The Croatian Chamber of Economy organised the 6th conference "Let's Support Sustainability" that took place in Zagreb. The goal of this initiative is to create a unique platform for cooperation, learning, and development of transformative sustainability strategies, and this year's theme was the necessity of a RE:START, i.e. reviewing current patterns of behaviour and considering the real capacities for the implementation of sustainability.

The event was opened by the president of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, Luka Burilović, and minister Marija Vučković, who emphasised stability as the principal goal for society and the economy, in the light of climate and geopolitical changes. "We’re facing challenges in the areas of waste management, green infrastructure, in the construction sector, reducing water losses... Progress is visible, but there is still a lot of work to be done. However, in this process we must not forget what has always made entrepreneurship successful - rational cost management and meeting market demands, but with the preservation of resources,” underlined minister Vučković.

As part of the conference and for the 3rd consecutive year, the Croatian Chamber of Economy presented the ESG Rating awards for sustainable business to companies that achieved the best ESG results in six categories - small, medium, large and public companies, financial institutions, and the award for the exemplar sustainable business model. ESG rating is a score assigned to an organisation for its approach to the Environment (E), society (S) and adopted governance practices (G) - ESG.

On this occasion, the director of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, Luka Balen, presented the company Premifab with the award for the best sustainable small company. "Through programmes that are co-financed by national funds, as well as those for which EU funds have been provided, the Fund encourages the transformation of our economy into a green, digital and resource-efficient one," concluded Balen.

The winner of the CCE ESG rating award for the best large sustainable company is Holcim. In the category of the best sustainable public company, the winner is Zagreb Holding, while Erste Bank is the winner of the CCE ESG rating award in the category of the best sustainable financial institution.
