Fund doubles its budget: Applications for photovoltaics in households reopened

06.10.2025.

As of 9:00 today, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund will reopen the Public Call for co-financing the installation of photovoltaic power plants in family houses. The call was temporarily closed at the beginning of September, but due to the great interest of citizens, the initial budget of 10 million euros was doubled to a new total of 20.5 million euros that are now available for this programme.

The funds are intended for co-financing the installation of PV power plants for own needs on the roofs of existing family houses or related outbuildings. Eligible applicants include only natural persons - owners or co-owners of houses with permanent residence at the address at the time of commissioning the power plant. This call will allow them to co-finance up to 50% of eligible costs, i.e. up to EUR 600 per kilowatt (kW) of the nominal power of the installed power plant. Only power plants that have been installed and put into operation as of 1 January 2025 are considered.

The interest of citizens in the production of their own green energy is growing, which is corroborated by more than 5100 applications received so far. With an additional budget, the Fund will enable even more households to apply thereby supporting their energy independence and direct investments in the green transition.

On 17 October, the Fund will also announce an additional call worth €7.5 million, intended for those who installed their photovoltaic power plants during 2024. Theis will provide incentives to citizens who have already invested in renewable energy sources at their own expense, provided that they meet all the requirements specified in the call. Application submission is planned to start on 29 October 2025.

For both public calls, applications are submitted exclusively electronically, through the eFZOEU system, using the National Identification and Authentication System (NIAS). On behalf of the applicant, the application may also be submitted by a proxy with a power of attorney certified by a notary public.

The programme promoting  the installation of photovoltaic power plants, which the Fund is implementing in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition and the Ministry of Economy, has proven to be one of the most successful national models for encouraging the energy transition of households. Its implementation reduces GHG emissions, increases energy independence, lowers costs for households, and contributes to the achievement of national goals in the field of the use of renewable energy sources.
