Fund looking for the most original ecocreatives in schools

03.10.2022.

This year, too, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund will hold an educational and environmental competition for the students of elementary schools and high schools under the name “Ostavi utisak, ne otisak" (Leave a green imprint, not a carbon footprint).

This competition is just one in a series of information and education activities carried out by the Fund, which is aimed at motivating the students to think about the importance of preventing waste and fostering a sustainable way of life. The competition tasks are divided into three age groups - 1st through 4th grade, 5th through 8th grade elementary school, and high school students. The competition is opened until 15 December 2022 to groups of up to 10 students, which will be entered by their teachers or mentors.

Interesting prizes await the most creative teams, such as the zero-waste party, hanging out with one of the most popular Croatian TikTokers, or discovering the world of electric hyper cars.

“With this competition we want to encourage students’ creativity and teamwork in developing activities or products that will help reduce waste. Also, we want to encourage the younger generations to acquire green habits and motivate them to behave in a way that will leave a green imprint, not a carbon footprint”, said the representatives of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.

The decision on the best entry will be made by the members of the expert jury consisting of the representatives of the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, influencer Barbara Vesanović Gašić, a.k.a. Debela Barbara, TikToker and dancer Luciano Plazibat, and the artist Vanja Babić. After the jury examines all the received entries, the winners of the main prizes will be revealed on 23 January 2023.

The students can apply to the competition through an online form on the website www.ostaviutisak.com, where they can also find additional information.
