Waste management and energy renovation contracts presented at the session of the Council for Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem

Just before the start of the session of the Government Council for Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem, the minister of environment and green transition, Marija Vučković, and the director of the Fund, Luka Balen, officially handed over the co-financing contract for the construction of transfer stations that will be part of the Orlovnjak waste management centre. 

 

The contract is worth a fraction over one million euros and refers to the national share provided by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund. Earlier, 4.8 million euros were approved from EU funds through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for the construction of three transfer stations to be built in: Stari Jankovci, Beli Manastir and Đakovo.

 

In addition to this, the Director of the Fund, together with the Deputy Prime Minister and minister of physical planning, construction and state property, Branko Bačić, also handed over two contracts for the energy renovation of public buildings worth 184 thousand euros, which will be implemented in Pleternica. To be more specific, it is for the energy renovation of the Gradac Sports and Recreation Centre and the Trapari Community Centre.

 

"The Waste Management Centre Orlovnjak is the most important regional environmental infrastructure project that will solve waste disposal in Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem counties complying to all environmental standards. Investing in energy renovations such as these in Pleternica ensures lower energy consumption and a more comfortable and healthy living conditions in renovated buildings," said Director Balen.
