20 years of PRE-KOM - waste management at its best

08.03.2022.

A formal event was held in Prelog to mark 20 years of operation of the company PRE-KOM that today, along with Prelog, covers 13 more units of local self-government providing the public service of collecting municipal waste. PRE-KOM separately collects and treats 65% of the waste, which makes them one of the leaders in this field in Croatia.
Alenka Košiša Čičin-Šain, the deputy director of the Fund, was present at the ceremony, where she said: “Pre-kom is the exemplar of how the greatest change takes time, step by step, and demonstrates that effort and dedication always pays,” adding that Prelog today is recording some of the best results in Croatia in terms of waste separation, which should not be surprising when we know that for years the company has been systematically working on education regarding waste separation.
The event was also attended by the state secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development Mile Horvat, the mayor of Međimurje County, Matija Posavec, the head of the Waste Management Sector at the Fund, Aleksandra Čilić, MP and mayor of Prelog Ljubomir Kolarek, and owners of PRE-KOM. The event also gathered the representatives of other neighbouring units of local self-government and utility companies form northern Croatia PRE-KOM works with. To mark 20 years of operation, PRE-KOM donated 20 television sets to 20 kindergartens in 14 units of local self-government where they provide waste collection services.
