At the end of the year WMC Bikarac started the trial run, and after the completion of WMC Biljane Donje until the end of this year a large part of Dalmatia will have fulfilled the prerequisites for having an integrated waste management system. Mr. Perović explained that the centre, with approx. 88,000 t/year capacity, would collect municipal, and non-hazardous production and construction waste from the Zadar County and part of Lika-Senj County. The mechanical-biological treatment of the mixed municipal waste according to the highest European standards is planned, including the treatment of construction waste.

Mayor Dukić pointed out that the Town of Zadar will continue investing in the education of their citizens to ensure the highest possible rate of separately collected waste, in line with the circular economy principles and the European Green Deal.
