A working meeting was held today in Novska between the director of the Fund, Siniša Kukić, and the mayor of Novska, Marin Piletić and his colleagues, on the topic of remediation of landfill Kurjakana and purchase of municipal equipment.“We discussed the projects we are jointly implementing, primarily regarding the remediation of landfill Kurjakana and purchase of the required municipal equipment. We visited the remediation worksite and were present at the acceptance of the purchased compactor, which was co-financed by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund with 686,000,” said Kukić.
During the event two new decisions on co-financing worth 640 thousand kunas were presented to mayor Piletić – one for the purchase of various containers for the sorting of waste, and the other one for remediation of illegal dumpsites.
Director Kukić, mayor Piletić and their associates visited landfill Kurjakana, where the acceptance of the compactor that will be used for further remediation of the landfill took place. They also visited the recycling yard where RVMs for the packaging in the deposit system have been installed. The citizens will now be able to bring plastic and glass bottles and tin cans and get a refund of 0.50 kn per unit of returned packaging.
“I’d like to thank the Fund for their financial and expert assistance. Our cooperation so far has been successful, and I would especially like to mention the cooperation on the project of landfill remediation. The compactor the Fund co-financed will also help us in further remediation of the landfill that is currently in phase IV. When the conditions are fulfilled for the closure of the landfill, we’re planning to apply the project for EU co-financing,” said mayor Piletić.
