Croatian Government gives the green light to the Fund to conclude contract for removal and disposal of illegal waste in Poznanovec

At today’s session, the Government gave consent to the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund to conclude a procurement contract for the service of removal and  disposal of illegally dumped hazardous and non-hazardous waste in Poznanovec, worth EUR 14.6 million.

"This decision and this project are part of a broader Government’s programme for the remediation of hot spots and locations polluted by illegal waste disposal," said minister of environment Marija Vučković.

As a reminder, for the remediation of two locations in Poznanovec, where 13,200 tonnes of waste are illegally disposed, the Fund is concluding a contract with the chosen consortium comprising the companies SAUBERMACHER-TS and EKO-FLOR PLUS.

The duration of the contract, worth EUR 11.7 million net of VAT or EUR 14.6 million with VAT, is 18 months. During this period, the disposed waste, which includes plastics, packaging waste, tyres and mixed waste generated by mechanical treatment, which may also contain hazardous ingredients, will be removed and properly disposed of.
