In the public procurement procedure for the removal and disposal or recovery of improperly disposed waste at locations in Poznanovec, the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund received one bid. The expert committee will review and evaluate the submitted documentation in detail, after which, in accordance with the regulations on public procurement, an appropriate decision will be made.At two locations in Poznanovec, the plan is to remove about 13,200 tons of non-hazardous and hazardous waste, which includes waste plastics, waste packaging waste, tyres, as well as waste generated by mechanical treatment, which may also contain hazardous components. Given the quantity, composition of waste and demanding conditions of its disposal, additional laboratory tests were carried out to more precisely determine the physical and chemical properties of waste that are necessary for its disposal or recovery. The obtained results were used as a basis for the preparation of technical documentation and the definition of procurement conditions.
The announcement of the procurement procedure was preceded by a consultation with interested economic operators through the Electronic Public Procurement Advertisement of the Republic of Croatia (EOJN), during which potential bidders had the opportunity to submit proposals and comments on the procurement documentation.
The procedure itself was published in the EOJN and the Official Journal of the European Union at the end of February, covering the entire remediation process - from loading and weighing waste on site, through its transport in closed vehicles to authorised facilities, including recovery or final disposal.
We would like to remind you that at the locations in Poznanovec, Gospić, Samobor, Pazin, Benkovac and Lovinac, various types of waste have been improperly disposed of over the years, posing a potential risk to the environment and human health. To enable a systematic and efficient solution to this problem, the Government of the Republic of Croatia, at the proposal of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Green Transition, included these locations in the Waste Management Plan of the Republic of Croatia. This created the preconditions for the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund to take over the operational implementation of remediation projects and ensure their implementation in a quality manner.
