The decision on the most original works of eco—creatives will be published on 23 January 2023 on the website www.ostaviutisak.com.

The applications to the Fund’s educational and environmental competition, opened on 3 October 2022, for elementary and secondary school students “Leave an imprint, not a (carbon) footprint” (“Ostavi utisak, ne otisak“) is closed. The works were submitted from all across Croatia proving that pupils have an interest in expressing themselves on the topic of reducing waste generation and a sustainable way of life.

“We are happy that so many engaging and fine works were submitted to the competition aimed at encouraging creativity and teamwork of students and sending the message about the importance of changing our day-to-day habits. In such stiff competition, it will be very difficult to decide which works are the best. We are glad that our elementary and highs school students are thinking about this issue, and have shown great talent and creativity with the help of their teachers,” said Sunčana Matić from the Public relations department.

The aim of the competition was to raise awareness, motivate, and guide children and the youth to treat waste in a proper manner – reduce, separate, and reuse. In this way, good habits are adopted from the earliest age with special focus on waste prevention.
The competition tasks were grouped in three categories: for elementary school pupils (grades 1 – 4), middle school (grades 5 – 8), and high school pupils, including topics such as alternatives to a traditional birthday party, theme videos, or fashion shows. Groups of up to 10 pupils could compete, with their teachers or mentors as applicants.
After the jury closely examines the submitted works, the winners of the attractive main prizes will be announced on 23 January 2023 on the official website of the competition www.ostaviutisak.com.
