The Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund has concluded contracts for the performance of waste tyre treatment activity to meet the national goals of separate collection and recovery of waste tyres with the companies GUMIIMPEX-GRP d.o.o. from Varaždin and METIS d.d from Kukljanovo.
The collection of waste tires is carried out through the collection network of waste tire processors, which is obliged to ensure the collection of waste tires from the owners of waste tires throughout the territory of the Republic of Croatia, free of charge, for the purpose of collecting waste tires and transporting them for processing.

The waste tyres collection service includes the collection (taking over and transport to the collector's warehouse), sorting, storage, preparation, and transport of waste tyres to the waste tyre treatment operator.
A collector is a legal or natural person - tradesman who, in accordance with the Waste Management Act (Official Gazette 84/21, 142/23 - Decision of the USRH), is registered in the Register of collectors and recovery operators, meaning they have obtained a waste management permit for the collection of waste tyres and have concluded a contract for the activity of collection of waste tyres either with the Fund’s contractual treatment operator or with the Fund.
The waste tyre collector shall be obliged to take over from the holder of waste tyres in full all waste tyres covered by Appendices 19 and 20. of the Ordinance on the Management of Special Categories of Waste in the System of the Fund (Official Gazette No. 124/23), and to hand them over in full to the waste tire processor with an accompanying sheet in accordance with the regulation governing waste management, i.e. with the appropriate document on cross-border waste trafficking.
The service of collection of waste tyres includes the collection (taking and transporting to the collector’s warehouse), sorting, storage, preparation, and transport of waste tyres to the treatment operator.
