A waste tyre treatment operator is a legal or natural person -tradesman who, in accordance with the Waste Management Act (Official Gazette No. 84/21, 142/23 - Decision of the USRH), has a license to perform the activity of waste tyre treatment and has concluded a contract with the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.
The waste tyre treatment operator shall be obliged to take over from the collector, free of charge and with the certification of the accompanying documentation, all waste tyres included in Annexes 19 and 20 of the Ordinance on the management of special categories of waste in the system of the Fund (Official Gazette No. 124/23).
Waste tyres collected in the territory of the Republic of Croatia, for which there are capacities for their recovery, shall be recovered and recycled in the Republic of Croatia.
